Jerusalem, Israel - The Western Wall or simply the Kotel, and traditionally in Arabic called the Waqf Abu Madiyanis, is a Jewish religious site located in the Old City of Jerusalem. The wall itself dates from the end of the Second Temple period, being constructed around 19 BCE. It is sometimes referred to as the Wailing Wall, referring to Jews who come to the site to mourn the destruction of the Holy Temple.
The Dome of the Rock, (Arabic: Masjid Qubbat As-Sakhrah, Hebrew: Kipat Hasela), is an Islamic shrine and a major landmark located on the Haram al-Sharif in Jerusalem. It was completed in 691, making it the oldest extant Islamic building in the world.
